Contact Exhibition
Sally and I were invited to participate in CONTACT this month, an exhibition and community programming project that explored the notion of “contact” as it relates to the Hawaiian Islands, its people, and their experiences. The show took place at the Honolulu Museum of Art School from April 10 – April 20, 2014, but our installations were asked to remain up through the middle of May.

Militia was reviewed today by David A.M. Goldberg, noted special contributor to the Honolulu Star Advertiser. His critical take on the Hawaii art scene is razor sharp and Keith was stoked David chose to check out his work. “In his first solo show, the inaugural exhibit at the newly opened SPF Projects, Hawaii island artist Keith Tallett’s “Militia” mixes this language of raw, often stereotyped, popular visual culture with his personal practices of surfboard design, tattooing and critical reflection on contemporary Hawaii.”

Militia at SPF Projects
For its inaugural exhibition, SPF Projects (729 Auahi Street Honolulu) – presents Keith Tallett in a show titled Militia from June 13-July 14, 2013. The exhibition represents the artistʼs first solo show and a reception will be held June 13 from 6-8pm.
